- Si no pagas el coste de sobrecarga de un hechizo con sobrecarga, ese hechizo tendrá un único objetivo. Si pagas el coste de sobrecarga, el hechizo no tendrá ningún objetivo.
- Para determinar el coste total de un hechizo, comienza con el coste de maná o coste alternativo que estés pagando (como un coste de sobrecarga), suma cualquier aumento de coste y luego aplica cualquier reducción de coste. El valor de maná del hechizo permanece sin cambios, sin importar cuál fuera el coste total para lanzarlo.
- Si se te instruye a lanzar un hechizo con sobrecarga "sin pagar su coste de maná", no puedes elegir pagar su coste de sobrecarga en su lugar.
- Dado que un hechizo con sobrecarga no elige objetivo cuando se paga su coste de sobrecarga, puede afectar a permanentes con hexproof o con protección del color apropiado.
- Si una criatura es exiliada pero termina en otra zona, sigue siendo una "criatura exiliada de esta forma" para Winds of Abandon.

- If you don't pay the overload cost of a spell with overload, that spell will have a single target. If you pay the overload cost, the spell won't have any targets.
- To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost you're paying (such as an overload cost), add any cost increases, then apply any cost reductions. The mana value of the spell remains unchanged, no matter what the total cost to cast it was.
- If you are instructed to cast a spell with overload "without paying its mana cost," you can't choose to pay its overload cost instead.
- Because a spell with overload doesn't target when its overload cost is paid, it may affect permanents with hexproof or with protection from the appropriate color.
- If a creature is exiled but ends up in another zone, it's still a "creature exiled this way" for Winds of Abandon.
